An established and growing residential property management company is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee the monthly financial reporting for a portfolio of 15–20 apartment communities. This position offers a collaborative environment, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to work remotely two days per week following a 60-day onboarding period.

What You'll Do

  • Complete month-end close processes for 15–20 apartment communities
  • Prepare monthly accruals and deferrals
  • Analyze financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and budget variances
  • Review cash flow and approve accounts payable activity
  • Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Communicate financial information and variances with property managers, regional managers, ownership groups, and executive leadership
  • Assist with annual property tax payments
  • Utilize accounting software and Microsoft Office tools to maintain accurate records
  • Support additional accounting projects as assigned

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

Experience

  • 2+ years of general ledger accounting experience required
  • Understanding of accrual accounting and cash/AP analysis
  • Property management or real estate accounting experience preferred
  • Experience communicating financial information to non-accounting professionals preferred

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Experience with Entrata and/or OneSite accounting software preferred

Requirements

  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
